Motor reel with charge control function

Abstract

PURPOSE: To allow constant current control and to eliminate a charger provided with a constant current circuit independently from a motor reel by providing a control means for detecting the battery voltage every predetermined time and controlling the time interval for closing a charging circuit according to thus detected battery voltage. CONSTITUTION: A motor reel comprises a charging circuit 42 connected between an input terminal 32 and an output terminal 30 and opening/closing a circuit between the input terminal 32 and the output terminal 30, and a control means 44 for detecting the battery 46 voltage every predetermined time and controlling the time interval for closing the charging circuit 42 according to thus detected voltage. Since the conductance of battery 46 charging current varies according to the potential difference between the input terminal 32 and the output terminal 30, the control means 44 controls the closing time, i.e., the duty ratio, of the charging circuit 42 according to the variation of the battery 46 voltage. Since the charging current can be quantified, an independent charger is not required while furthermore the battery 46 can be charged with approximately constant current when the battery 46 is connected with a motor reel body 12.
